An interactive guide to birding sites across Kitsap County and the surrounding area, with live eBird sightings, photos, and visitor information. Here's how to use the map.
The main birding sites within Kitsap County. These use a tiered marker system based on recent activity:
Notable birding destinations just outside Kitsap County. Shown as small green markers and toggled separately in the layers menu.
Toggle the Rarities layer to see rare or unusual birds recently reported anywhere in Kitsap County in the previous 7 days, pulled live from eBird. Each red marker is a recent rare-bird sighting; tap one for the species, date, and location.
Tap any site marker to open its details: photos, a description, accessibility and amenities, an optional "how to bird here" video, and live eBird sightings. Use "Get Directions" to navigate there.
Please note: accessibility details and trail conditions can change with seasons, weather, and maintenance. If you notice anything inaccurate or out of date, please let us know.
Each site with an eBird hotspot shows recent sightings in three tabs: Recent (all species lately reported there), Rarities (anything flagged as unusual), and High Count (the largest flock sizes recorded). Use the day buttons (1–30) to change the window. All data comes live from eBird, a project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
This map is a living community resource, maintained by Kitsap Audubon Society volunteers. Want to add a birding site, contribute photos, or update information for a place you know well? We'd love your help.
